6 days Kidepo and Murchison

Nestled in the wild frontier region of Uganda, Kidepo Valley National Park is apparently the most isolated national park in Uganda but still stands out to be one of the best virgin places every wildlife viewer can ever visit in Uganda.

The diversity in Kidepo valley national park offers more than a vacation but rewarding Uganda wildlife safaris as well as birding safaris in Uganda.  Several times Kidepo valley park Uganda has been ranked the best safari park in Africa and therefore no doubt you will have great fan in the park.

This safari takes you to Murchison Falls NP. Expect the roaring rapids of the Murchison, the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park with the abundance of wildlife and bird species including the elusive shoebill stork. From Murchison, proceed to Kidepo Valley NP. Kidepo is Uganda’s most pristine, unexplored game reserve teaming with the abundance of wildlife. While in Kidepo, you get the true meaning of being in the African jungle. Exit Kidepo and return to Entebbe for your flight out.

Itinery

Day 1: Kampala – Kitgum

After your morning breakfast, we set off from Kampala / Hotel and we head North towards Kitgum town which is about 452 kilometres. The journey takes us through the busy traffic jammed streets of Kampala City through Luwero Triangle which was badly affected during the 1980’s Ugandan Civil War. We stop over in Luwero town for a couple of fruits and continue through Nakasongola District a large Densely populated area with open savannah grasslands. Lunch in Gulu and we continue to Kitgum where we check in Boma Hotel for our night.

Day 2: Kitgum Town – Kidepo Valley National Park

After the early morning breakfast, we set off for a 2-3 hour drive to Kidepo Valley National Park through, kakwanga, loitanit villages and finally enter the park. We relax by our Lodge / UWA Bandas, lunch and we arrange for an evening fully parked game drive.

Return in the evening for an overnight in Apoka Lodge/UWA Bandas

Day 3: Full Day in Kidepo Valley National Park

After our breakfast, we embark on our game drive, return for lunch and again return to the game trails for the afternoon Game safari

Dinner and Overnight at UWA Bandas or Apoka Lodge

Day 4: Travel day to Murchison Falls National Park.

After breakfast, we drive through Kitgum town, Gulu town for lunch and continue through Karuma checking into Murchison falls later on driving through the game trails for yet more big chances of the game.

Check into Paraa safari Lodge for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 5: Game drive and Boat ride on the Victoria Nile.

Early morning breakfast and continue for a 4 hours game drive in Murchison falls National Park. It is another great morning yet to get only a few meters away from the Antelopes, Giraffes, Jacksons heartbeasts, Warthogs, Jackals, Elephants, Lions and the Hippos at the Hippo Pool for breakfast.

Return at around 11:00 am and continue to our lodge for freshening up and lunch.

At exactly 2:00 pm, we get onto a boat and start a 3 hours ride on the Victoria Nile with sightings of the great Nile Crocodiles, Buffaloes, Hippos, and lots of birds, you will be shown the crash point of Ernest Hemingway.

Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge

Day 6: Travel day back to Kampala / Entebbe Airport

Early morning game drive, cross the ferry,viist the top of the falls,rhino tracking at the sanctuary and drive back to Kampala.
