Brief Itinerary

Day 1 – Drive north to Murchison Falls for a dusk game drive.
Day 2 – Dawn game drive and water safari to Murchison Falls.
Day 3 – Visit the top of Murchison Falls waterfall and return to Kampala.

N.B: Avoid dressing in blue, white and black clothes as they may attract tsetse flies.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Heading north

After your early morning breakfast, you’ll depart from Kampala (or Entebbe) at 7am to drive north towards Murchison Falls NP. After about five to six hours you’ll cross over the mighty River Nile as it crashes down Karuma Falls where you can stop off for lunch. It’s then over the river, being sure to dodge the baboons basking in the sun by the road and drive along the northern border of the park to reach Tangi gate. Here you’ll enter the park for an afternoon game driving to track down lions, game herds, giraffes and elephants as well as a vast variety of bird life. After your game drive you’ll return to camp to watch the sunset over the River Nile. Be sure to watch out for more elephants near your camp as they head down to the waters edge in the early evening!

Day 2 – Game Drive and Boat Ride on the Victoria Nile

After the early morning breakfast, the guide/ driver together with the game ranger picks you up for the early game drive where you’re likely to see a variety of animals among them are; Elephants, Lions, Giraffes, Antelopes, Jackals, Hyenas, Uganda Kobs, Waterbucks, Jackson’s Hartebeests and hopefully the elusive Leopards .
Later on, return back to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation for probably a short time. After, set out for the afternoon Boat Ride on the Victoria Nile which is the high spot of any Murchison Falls Safari where lots of animals can be spotted at a close encounter.
During this amazing experience, there’re higher chances of spotting lots of hippos, Nile crocodiles, Elephants, Buffaloes, and many other animals that come to drink water, refresh and cool themselves off the scorching sun while other animals are grazing on the fresh grass along the river banks.

Day 3 – Morning drive through the park and back to Kampala/Entebbe

Early morning after breakfast, visit the top of the falls to see how the Nile forces its way through a 7 m gorge creating a breath taking water falls. After this activity, transfer to Ziwa rhino sanctuary (optional) for rhino tracking and then later continue to Kampala or Entebbe for your flight back home. end of 3 days Murchison Falls
